About Our Beer
Once upon a time in a basement far, far away, an aspiring brewer toiled away at beer recipes and brewing processes. Brewing into the wee hours of the night while still holding down a day job, Bryce Schaffter created amazing craft beers. The art of beer creation fueled his passion. Bryce and his right-hand man, John Baikie, spent numerous weekends throughout the year battling the elements for beer glory.
Fast forward to 2013 after a nudge (or swift kick in the ass from his wife), Bryce left the garage to start a professional brewery. In a serendipitous twist, Bryce met Bryan "Bucky" Buckingham at a brewery event. Bryce and Bryan forged a friendship that would take Cinder Block Brewery from humble beginnings to new heights with Bryan’s long history of professional brewing. Later down the road, Bryce's interest and passion in experimenting led to the inception of hard ciders and meads at Cinder Block! The rest, as they say, is history.
Block IPA
The Block IPA is a true Hop Monster with 6 different hop varieties slammed in every inch of this beer. The malt bill is simple and straight forward so not to get in the way of the true hop flavor. The initial aroma is citrus and passion fruit followed by a burst of green hop and pine flavors.. The bitterness comes through in the middle allowing for a pure hop goodness in the finish.
Czech Dark Lager
Perfect for both fall and winter, this Czech Dark Lager boasts exceptional drinkability throughout the colder months. It’s crafted with a blend of floor-malted Bohemian Pilsner, Munich malts, and a touch of dark malt for added complexity. Specially selected noble hops provide a balanced bitterness, enhancing the beer’s smooth character
Czech Pils
A modern approach to craft lagers. This Czech-style pilsner was made with extra pale pilsner malt and Saaz hops resulting in an immensely clean, crisp, refreshing beer with exquisite drinkability.
Hop Cuddle
When all you want to do is cuddle, Hop Cuddle is your partner for a soft, luscious, fluffy IPA. All the hops in this beer find their way in at the very end of the brewing process, preserving all the delicate, tropical and juicy flavors. Not bitter and not high in alcohol, we’ve created the perfect beer to cuddle up to!
Juicy Pils
This hoppy Pilsner is a clean, crisp beer, with a hop-packed juicy kick! Coming in at 5% ABV, it’s easily crushable for hop heads and lager lovers alike. Stay Juicy!
Weathered Wit
Weathered Wit is true to style with a light tart flavor, great yeast character, and finishing with strong citrus notes. Our wit yeast does the heavy lifting on this beer producing a complex Belgian flavor resulting in a simple yet refined taste.
